About
The way we communicate with the world is changing. Technology has made it possible for everyone to make their voices heard. Blogs are easier than ever to set up and, via social networking, easier than ever to publicise.
If businesses can hire the brightest minds and make use of social networking for increased profits, then it is important that the members of the Third Sector, who have been working hard on creating real value and positive change in the community, are an active part of this development as well. Conscious Communications offers advice on implementing new technologies in your communications strategy, both internally and externally.
Because, if we can get the authentic news “straight from the horse’s mouth”, neither you nor we need PR people to speak for you.
What are the obstacles to you starting a blog and getting on twitter? Do you consider it self-indulgent? Do you worry about not being able to deal with the technical bits? Do you worry about the time you have to invest, or the information overload? These are the questions we’ll be dealing with on our pages. We link to other good sites full with information around these issues, we help you pick a good consultant if you do choose to hire one, and we also offer regular online training courses.
These courses don’t teach PR. You still have to develop your own voice. But we offer an area on our site where you can exchange inspiration and information with others learning these techniques.
Social Networking is only as good as the people you network with. Please join the conversation and share some real values.
- Web-based tools to vet the credibility of your (prospective) Social Media consultant – to help you ask the right questions, and pick the best possible match, before you invest resources.
- Social Media webinars in cooperation with the Salesforce.com Foundation.
- Simple training modules on questions around Social Media tools for individuals and organisations.
- Consulting and one-to-one training services, including setting up of customised wordpress blogs and accounts.
- Meet the Hive Mind that is Tuttle - a group of professionals within Social Media who meet in Central London every Friday morning.
Conscious Communications is being set up as a Social Enterprise with the sole aim of changing community life as we know it.
We are a London-based group of professionals with various backgrounds in communications, the media, and the Third Sector. We help organisations realise the potential in adopting new forms of communication (Social Media).
Many small and medium-sized not-for-profits don’t have the facilities to keep on top of these developments, but feel a lot of pressure because of constant and increasing mainstream media coverage of new technologies. They often are victims of bad advice because of this pressure.
Apart from providing advisory services, we also provide an online accessible toolkit, free to not-for-profits, to protect these organisations from wasting time and resources on bad consulting.
We are specialised in consulting for the not-for-profit sector, the challenges and rewards of dealing with volunteer labour and fundraising issues. That’s why we charge our not-for-profit clients 10% of our normal business rates.
We work as a Social Enterprise. 50% of the profits are re-invested in community projects.
We believe that by doing this, we support the elements of society which impact all our lives in a positive way. We want to strengthen the local community by supporting real food initiatives, music and arts based community projects, sports initiatives, youth groups…
We also provide Social Media and Business consulting services for Small to Medium Businesses and other Social Enterprises.
