Social Media? If you’ve never been in a chatroom before and spoken simultaneously to a number of people, while listening and interacting with others’ conversation, it can seem intimidating. How do you get started? How do you make sense of it all? How do you find your voice? How do you find others to listen to you?
Now that more and more individuals, businesses, organisations, even No.10 and the US defense ministry have given testimony to the fact that, yes, speaking for yourself is indeed the future of communications, there really can’t be any more arguments against it, other than – I don’t get it.
You want to get it? Try it. Speak for Yourself help you get it. If you don’t, we offer a day’s intensive one to one training. You won’t need it.
Our courses, led by online communications experts, involve a group of participants who become each other’s test audience. You learn to present yourself, interact, and build an audience, all in a protected environment. We have short weekly online catch-up sessions – because most of what you learn, you learn by doing it.
There are best practices we can all follow. You will get feedback from the course leader. You are encouraged to give each other feedback, and to try things out yourself – on our playground there are no mistakes, because your audience also learns with you. The only rule is – do it. Post at least 3 updates per day. More if you want, but not less.
Much of this can be done in your own time, just like “real” social communication. We have one feedback session online, depending on everyone’s schedule.
You are free to decide if you want to start your “public” twitter profile simultaneously and practice what you’ve learned straight away, or if you want to be “released” into the “real” world on completion of the course. We don’t teach you to follow formulas – this is about you developing your own voice.
This is about you speaking for yourself.
